One-year Accelerated MBA Program at Clarkson University

The 1-year accelerated MBA program at Clarkson University can be completed in 2 semesters. The program's curriculum consists of 38 credit hours and includes 10 MBA modules, 5 elective courses, and 1 experiential course. Coursework includes case studies, behavioral role playing, computer simulations, and hands-on projects.

Elective courses can be used to earn graduate certificates in accounting, environmental management, global supply chain management, or innovation and new venture management. Additionally, experiential courses may include study abroad opportunities to learn about the international marketplace.

Summer Business Concepts Program

Students who have been accepted into the 1-year MBA program but do not have business-related undergraduate degrees or lack prerequisites can participate in the 10-week Summer Business Concepts program.

The program, which consists of 10 courses, is offered the summer before the MBA program begins. This allows students who do not have business backgrounds the opportunity to complete their MBAs in 1 year. These courses are offered at no charge to students.

Online MBA Program at Clarkson University

Clarkson University offers a rigorous online MBA program that is designed for people from diverse backgrounds and professions. This flexible program allows individuals to study at their own pace and earn their degrees in 18 months, but they can take as many as 5 years to complete the program.

Students complete the program part-time, which allows them to continue with their careers. They can immediately apply what they learn in the program to the workplace and share their professional experiences with classmates.

This interchange of information enriches coursework and projects.

The 42-credit online MBA program curriculum includes 9 MBA core courses, 4 elective courses and a leadership development course that is offered at an off campus locations which allows students easy accessibility for this requirement.

The curriculum emphasizes a systems approach that consists of several concepts including process management approach to quality, global orientation, e-commerce based strategies, and employing information technology as a decision-making tool.

Global MBA

Students in the 38-credit Global MBA program at Clarkson University complete core business courses during the first semester of the program. They spend the second semester studying abroad at a partner institution such as City University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong, China; Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia; and Bordeaux Management School in Bordeaux, France.

As a result, students graduate from the program with the cross-functional skill set and international business acumen needed to help companies successfully compete in the global marketplace.

Stephen Sauer, PhD, teaches Organizational Behavior, a required class for MBA students. His research has significant managerial implications on subjects such as how to be a more effective leader, how to build and manage teams, and how biases impact organizations.
