Overview

Highly-Ranked M.B.A. Programs

Loyola's Sellinger School of Business and Management offers several graduate business programs and a graduate accounting certificate program aimed at preparing effective business leaders for the global economy.

Ranked by the "Financial Times" as one of the world's best executive M.B.A. programs and by "U.S. News and World Report" as one of the nation's best 30 part-time M.B.A. programs, the top-notch program at Loyola University Maryland combines rigorous training with lifelong networking opportunities.

The Sellinger School of Business and Management is one of the less than 10 percent of schools nationwide dually accredited in business and accounting by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (A.A.C.S.B.) International.

The Executive M.B.A.

Loyola's executive M.B.A. is a 2-year program designed for working professionals with 8 to 10 years of management or leadership experience who want to advance their career. Students come from Fortune 1,000 companies, small businesses, and non-profits, and from diverse academic majors from science to liberal arts.

The curriculum covers various business disciplines like I.T. and accounting, as well as ethics and social responsibility in an increasingly complex, global, and dynamic business climate.

One of the highlights of the program is a week-long international study tour to an emerging market such as Asia or Latin America. To meet the needs of working professionals, classes are held one day a week on alternating Fridays and Saturdays.

M.B.A. Fellows

Loyola's M.B.A. fellows program is a 2-and-a-half-year cohort program designed for rising leaders. It brings together people from many different professions from engineers to accountants, and is designed for people with 4 to 6 years of management experience at an operational level.

The program is based on the executive M.B.A. program, with classes only held on Saturdays to make it more accessible for working professionals.

The curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of business, such as accounting, economics, and finance, as well as global business and ethics.

Highlights include a consultancy project with a local business, a week-long international study tour to an emerging market, and domestic field studies to observe best business practices in action.

Professional M.B.A.

The professional M.B.A. at Loyola's Sellinger School of Business and Management is a flexible part-time program that tailors the curriculum to a student's background and interests. The program offers electives to fit the student's areas of interest, and classes are held at night, year-round.

It brings together students from all professional and educational backgrounds, who can then apply what they learned on the job.

The curriculum includes real-life case studies so the class can test academic theories, share experiences, discuss current issues, and learn from each another.

Emerging Leaders M.B.A.

This accelerated, full-time immersion M.B.A. program is designed for recent undergraduates with limited or no professional experience who want to become business leaders of the future.

The program covers the fundamentals of business, as well as technology, ethics, and emerging global economies. With an emphasis on personal attention, the faculty tailors each student's experience to his or her interests and expertise.

The ideal applicant has excelled in academic performance, shown exceptional drive and leadership, and has an interest in community involvement.

Master of Science in Finance

The Sellinger School's M.S. in Finance is a part-time program designed for students from all academic backgrounds with an interest and passion for financial leadership.

Students who are newer to the field take core credits like math for business or global economic analysis. Required courses for everyone include financial theory, investment analysis, and derivatives and risk management.

While the program focuses on students with a business-related degree, those with strong credentials from any field may be accepted.

Accounting Certificate

This accelerated graduate program allows recent graduates or new accounting professionals to obtain graduate-level credits toward the requirements of C.P.A. licensure.

The program covers four areas: advanced topics in accounting and reporting, financial instruments and valuation, advanced topics in auditing and professionalism, professional communications, and information systems in a global environment.

In accordance with A.A.C.S.B. International and Loyola University Maryland's academic policies, a total of 6 credits can be transferred into Loyola's Professional M.B.A. program within three years of completing the certificate.

Classes are held two days a week, from mid-May to July.
