Alumni and Graduates Praise Texas Tech University's Graduate Programs

Kristin Goodheart, a Ph.D. candidate in clinical psychology, explained that her graduate school experiences at Texas Tech have fueled her passion about helping people in a therapeutic setting.

"I feel very fortunate to be a graduate student in the clinical program at Texas Tech University and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience in Lubbock. I attribute much of my success to the guidance and support that I have received from the faculty members in the psychology department at Texas Tech University. The psychology faculty members are outstanding instructors, researchers, clinicians, and people. My experience at Texas Tech University has been enriched by their wisdom, knowledge, and compassion for people. I would recommend this program without hesitation to others."

Dr. Ju-Yu Zoe Ho is a 2008 graduate of the hospitality administration program in the Department of Nutrition, Hospitality, and Retailing in the College of Human Sciences. She was the first member of her family in Taiwan to pursue an education abroad. It had been ten years since Dr. Ho was a student when she arrived at Texas Tech in 2004 on a fellowship.

During her four-year study, Dr. Ho explained, "I was inspired by the educational environment, knowledgeable faculty members, and academic freedom of TTU. I was able to explore any research topic that I felt interested in with support and guidance from the program's faculty members. Before beginning my dissertation, I was able to conduct research on hotel performance reviews in the greater China area, employees' equity perception in the International Tourists Hotels in Taiwan, and the internship experiences of hospitality students as hotel receptionists."

Dr. Ho is currently an assistant professor in the School of Hospitality Administration at Boston University. "I truly appreciate the education that I received at Texas Tech University. It has changed my life and helped me become the person I want to be."
