Core Curriculum

The Rady School's robust core curriculum delivers a strong foundation that prepares students to make adept decisions in an ever-changing business environment. Beyond business cases and formulas, the Rady MBA core curriculum encourages collaboration, classroom discussion and interaction.

Lab to Market

Required of all Rady MBA students, the capstone Lab to Market course sequence helps students utilize the skills they have learned in the core curriculum and electives to explore a project of significance to them. In this unique, action-learning based course, students learn to assess which innovations are worth pursuing and which concepts can successfully be moved to the marketplace. Lab to Market takes students out of the more structured academic framework of the core curriculum and puts them in a real-world environment, evaluating and pursuing potential business opportunities in collaboration with a team of classmates.

Financial Assistance

There are several financial assistance opportunities available for Full-Time MBA students including merit- and need-based fellowships, federal student financial aid, UC San Diego need-based scholarships and educational loans.

FlexMBA students may be able to secure fellowships from private donors of the program. They are, however, encouraged to seek financial assistance from their employers or through public and private loan programs.


Full-Time MBA academic fees for 2013-14 are approximately $44,000 for California residents and $50,000 for non-residents.

The FlexMBA fee for students enrolling in 2013-2014 is $1,118 per credit unit. The Rady MBA program is 92 credit units. The fees are billed quarterly and include registration, all textbooks and course materials, parking and meals for regularly scheduled class sessions. Lodging is included during FlexEvening residentials and Friday evenings for scheduled classes during the FlexWeekend program.
