Overview

The College of Arts and Sciences Adheres to USF's Jesuit Values of Global Justice and Educational Excellence

Six academic schools and colleges comprise the University of San Francisco, including the College of Arts and Sciences, which is home to about 3,000 undergraduate and 650 graduate students. In all of its programs of study, USF strives to foster educational excellence and to promote justice at all levels of society. Accordingly, students and faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences have received recognition and made a number of positive contributions to the local and global communities.

Many of the college's programs involve travel to developing nations, environmental projects, and scientific research that makes an impact in accordance with USF's Jesuit heritage. The Jesuit tradition, combined with the university's motto, "Educating hearts and minds to change the world," emphasizes well-rounded academic preparation that equips students to use their education for the benefit of the world around them.

Master's Program in Environmental Management Accommodates Traditional Grad Students and Working Professionals

For students who are interested in working in the environmental field, USF also offers a Master of Science in Environmental Management. The environmental management program is designed to combine a science-based management program with a broad knowledge of industry, public policy, non-governmental organizations, and other topics related to the environmental marketplace.

The University of San Francisco's environmental management program has the distinction of having been founded 30 years ago, before the current trends in environmental studies began. In its long history, the program has had time to perfect itself and adapt itself to the new demands of environmental science.

The Master of Science in Environmental Management is a full-time program, but the course schedule is designed to accommodate working professionals, with most classes being held on Saturdays. The program also accommodates traditional graduate students, who typically engage in internships while completing the program.

More information is available about the College of Arts and Sciences and applying online, as well as information for international graduate students.
