Focus of faculty research:	Enzymatic inhibitors against tropical diseases, natural products chemistry, development of methods for the identification and quantification of drugs and their metabolites in biological fluids, characterization of novel compounds to inhibit specific brain transporters and assess their effectiveness as new antidepressants
