Are you an aspiring law student looking to help fund your education? Law school costs between $85,000 for in-state, public school and $148,000+ for private school over three years. Here are ten scholarships to help you cover the cost of pursuing your law school education. 

  1. Lemberg Law Land of Opportunity Law School Scholarship
    Undergraduate or graduate students who plan to enroll in a J.D., LL.M, or S.J.D. program in the U.S. studying law/legal services are eligible, and must submit an essay to apply.
    Amount awarded: $1,250
  2. Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Scholarship
    An award of $10,000 will be given to one student showing financial need, reflecting academic excellence, and consistently demonstrating a dedication to the law, the rule of law, and our court system. Applicants must be a graduate student studying law/legal services full-time.
    Amount awarded: $10,000
  3. NAPABA Law Foundation Scholarships
    Eligible applicants must be a graduate student studying law/legal services. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, leadership potential, and commitment to/interest in serving the Asian Pacific American community, although you do not need to be Asian Pacific American to apply.
    Amount awarded: $2,000
  4. Howard T. Markey Memorial Scholarship
    An award of $10,000 will be given to one graduate law student demonstrating academic promise, economic need, and an interest in the subject matter of the Federal Circuit’s legal community.
    Amount awarded: $10,000
  5. Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship
    This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student who is currently attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university, who has either served in the Armed Forces or is the child of a U.S. veteran. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed at least one semester of classes.
    Amount awarded: $2,000
  6. WIFLE Scholarship
    This scholarship is awarded to encourage women to pursue a career in federal law/legal services. Applicants must be enrolled in, or be transferring to a four-year program in criminal justice, law/legal services, social sciences, public administration, chemistry, physics, computer science, or related studies and must demonstrate commitment to the community through volunteer community service or an internship in a law enforcement agency.
    Amount awarded: $2,500
  7. Law School Scholarship
    This award is designed to defray a portion of the tuition cost for attending law school. You may apply even if you are not currently enrolled, but you must be accepted at the law school you will be attending, which must be accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
    Amount awarded: $1,000
  8. GEICO Graduate Award
    Five scholarships will be awarded to deserving, talented, and motivated NSCS members who are continuing their education. Applicants must be accepted into and entering a graduate or PhD degree-seeking program in the fall following the application period. Students enrolling in professional programs such as medical school or law school are also eligible to apply.
    Amount awarded: $5,000
  9. Ankin Law Office Annual College Scholarship
    This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate or law school student who must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited community college, college or university, law school or graduate school.
    Amount awarded: $2,500
  10. Outstanding Law Student Award
    This award will be given to a junior or senior law student in good academic standing. Each legal organization may nominate one of its members on the basis of their contribution to the study of law, service to the law school community, service to the larger community, pursuit of a law career in spite of prohibiting factors, and any other area that is worthy of recognition.
    Amount awarded: $500
