DENVER, CO — November 3, 2020 — Peterson’s introduced a new online resource page designed specifically for students looking to transfer to another college or university. The new resource page aims to provide valuable information to help students streamline the process of transferring schools.
Between COVID-19 and the decline in high school graduation rates, colleges and universities have seen on average a 15 percent decrease in enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year. For colleges and universities to meet their enrollment goals, they need to include nontraditional students, including transfer and adult students in their recruitment efforts. Peterson’s not only helps provide guidance to these unique student populations, but assists our campus partners in working with these students directly.
“Due to Covid-19, colleges and universities are expected to see a growth in the number of students transferring from two-year institutions to four-year institutions,” said Lindsay Tulloss, Senior Manager of Client Success and Operations at Peterson’s. “Resources for transfer students can be limited; therefore, Peterson’s is stepping up to fill that gap by providing helpful tips, tricks, and information about transfer-friendly programs to help serve this unique group of students.”
This newly-launched online resource for transfer students features:
- Listings of transfer-friendly schools
- Listings of programs that engage students outside of the traditional classroom
- Considerations for transferring schools, including common mistakes community college students make when transferring to universities, and information about transferring college credits
- Tips for finding your ideal college/program
- How to earn college credits for less, including CLEP, DSST, and prior learning credit
- Ways to improve your transfer application
- The financial aid process for transfer students
- Blog posts to aid and inspire you throughout the process, and more!
“With a growing number of students interested in transferring schools, Peterson’s is proud to be an industry leader in serving these students,” Tulloss said. “Between helping students learn how their credits will transfer to application tips, or finding transfer-friendly college programs, Peterson’s resource center is a one-stop shop for any student considering transferring colleges.”
This is the fourth resource page Peterson’s has launched to help nontraditional students pursue higher education. Previously-released online communities were designed to assist veterans and current military members, adult learners going back to school, and international students.
