The 1693 Scholars Program is William & Mary's most selective scholarship, providing students with extensive benefits worth the amount of in-state tuition, general fees and room & board. Scholars work closely with distinguished faculty in order to plan their course of study, and receive $5,000 to support independent projects. Students selected as finalists are typically successfully pursue the most demanding curriculum available to them; rank in the top 1-3 percent of their graduating high school class; score above 1500 combined on the Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections of the SAT and/or score above a 33 on the ACT; and are successful student leaders in their schools and local communities who seek out and embrace opportunities to enrich their educational experience.
