Description

The CBC Spouses Performing Arts Scholarship was established in honor of the late Curtis Mayfield to ensure that African American or Black students pursuing a degree in the performing arts receive financial assistance. Performing arts include theater, drama, comedy, music, dance, opera, marching bands, and other musical ensembles. Applicants must be preparing to pursue, or currently pursuing, an undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree. Current high school seniors are also eligible to apply. They must also exhibit leadership and be active in the community. Applicants must submit a video personal statement and video of their sample performance. In the personal statement, please discuss your academic interests and/or professional goals and how you will make change in your community with your education.
