The Dr. Earl James Fahringer Performing Arts Scholarship will be awarded each year to students pursuing a major in music, arts, drama, or dance. Applicants must be a person with a bleeding disorder or must have an immediate family member with a bleeding disorder (such as a sibling of, child of, or spouse of someone with a bleeding disorder). Applicants must be planning to pursue a post-secondary education or are pursuing a graduate degree or continuing education program. Applicants must be a resident of, or have permanent address in, one of the eligible Southern California counties. Applicants must demonstrate principles of goal-orientation and motivation through thought-out statements of goals and intentions. Priority will be given to applicants who are actively involved with HFSC as a community member participant or volunteer. Priority will also be given to those with a bleeding disorder diagnosis and to first-time applicants. A perfect GPA or extensive extracurricular activities are not necessary for applicants to be considered for the scholarship as we acknowledge that living with a bleeding disorder can be challenging.
