By achieving a high score on these exams, test takers can earn real college credit from thousands of colleges and universities across the United States. The Principles of Macroeconomics CLEP exam covers material taught in a one-semester undergraduate course in macroeconomics. The test emphasizes economic principles such as the determinants of aggregate demand and supply as well as monetary and fiscal tools used to achieve particular policy objectives.
- The breakdown of content assessed on the exam, along with the content’s estimated representation on the test by percentage, is listed below:
- Basic Economic Concepts (8-12%)
- Measurement of Economic Performance (12-16%)
- National Income and Price Determination (15-20%)
- Financial Sector (15-20%)
- Inflation, Unemployment, and Stabilization Policies (20-25%)
- Economic Growth and Productivity (5-10%)
- Open Economy: International Trade and Finance (9-13%)
- This exam consists of roughly 80 multiple-choice questions.
