- The Navy Advanced Programs Test (NAPT), administered by the United States Navy, is a supplementary test for potential Nuclear Field Program applicants who do not qualify based solely on their ASVAB line scores. The NAPT test is a two-hour exam that evaluates a candidate’s knowledge of chemistry, math, and physics. The NAPT test gauges both knowledge and comprehension (20%) and application (80%). The nuclear field within the U.S military is highly competitive and challenging, and the NAPT exam demonstrates the types of content you need to know well in order to succeed in this field of the United States military.
- The NAPT test is for Navy recruits who wish to qualify for the Nuclear Field (NF) program. The NAPT test is given to potential Nuclear Field (NF) Program applicants who do not qualify based solely on ASVAB line scores.
- The NAPT test includes 80 questions that cover the following:
- Physics
- Algebra II
- Chemistry
- Geometry
- You will need to answer 55 questions correctly out of 80 to receive a passing score on the NAPT test. If your initial NAPT test score was 40 or higher, you may be authorized to retest once no earlier than 90 days from the date of the initial test. The minimum passing score for an NAPT retest is 55.
