- The TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is an exam assessing students’ basic knowledge in science, reading, English, and math. The ATI TEAS test, developed by Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI), is an entrance exam for applicants to RN, LPN/LVN, and allied health programs and is normed for each program type separately.
- The ATI TEAS test covers 4 subjects: reading, math, science, and English and language usage. An ATI TEAS study guide is a great tool to help you get familiar with the 4 topics on the exam. Taking practice tests online is another excellent way to study the ATI TEAS material. Reading (64 minutes) – Key ideas and details – Craft and structure – Integration of knowledge and ideas Science (63 minutes) – Human anatomy and physiology – Life and physical sciences – Scientific reasoning English and Language Usage (28 minutes) – Conversations of standard English – Knowledge of language – Vocabulary acquisition Mathematics (64 minutes) – Numbers and algebra – Measurement and data

- The ATI TEAS has a percentage score, and you’ll want to try for a minimum of 70%; however, most nursing schools are looking for scores in the upper 70 percentage range. Test scores are broken down into a report: Your Total TEAS Score is your score for all 4 sections on the TEAS test. Your total score is weighed and adjusted to account for different test versions. The Content Area Scores are individual scores for each of the 4 sections. The Sub-Content Area Score breaks down subcategories within each of the 4 sections.
